Nina's Salon | Made For You
Nina's Nails
From a young age I remember loving nail. I remember convincing my parents to let me get my first pair of press on nails for my primary school prom. I mustn't have been older than 11. It was a super tacky £1 pair of nails with some sort of zebra pattern and some gems. None of the sizes fit me properly and the nails didn't go with my dress. Regardless, I was obsessed.
After that, my friend and I would spend our pocket money on cheap press on nails nearly every week. We would spend half of our Saturdays in town picking out our new nails and the other half of the day, trying to apply them in the park.
When college hit I thought that I would follow the trend and start going to the salon for acrylic nails. I must say, I fell in love. I adored the fact that I could fully pick and chose what was going on my nails rather than just picking from a range of 5 press on nail sets.
Then, I became an adult and got a grown up job, where having long colourful nails, wasn't the best idea (nor was I really allowed it) but I wasn't going to give up my nails that easy.
I went back to press on nails. This time using sticky glue tabs instead of the provided glue, meaning that I could have my nails on for the night or the weekend, without worrying about wearing them at work the following day.
This however, meant that I was back at square one: being very limited to the design choices out there and when I would finally settle on them, half of them wouldn't fit me anyway!
I knew that there had to be a better way and so I went online and bought a pack of plain, clear press on nails. When they arrived I used plain old nail polish to decorate and design my new set of nails (which all fit perfectly by the way!)
This is when I realised that I was onto something. I was finally making sets that I loved to wear and I was having so much fun making them. I knew that I had to share this with the world.
I went on Canva and made a rushed logo (not our current logo haha) just so that I could open my shop and start selling my art.
From the beginning we have received amazing support and met some lovely people along the way! Can't wait to carry on my journey and I hope that you all follow along!
Love
